Purpose:

The primary purpose for this program is to motivate, inspire, & support teachers.

Why:

We believe that teacher are more than just an individual that stands in front of students on a weekly basis. Teachers inspire, counsel, motivate, uplift, and influence the lives of many youth each and everyday. Society sends a message that teachers are not important through pay cuts, lack of proper supplies, and ridiculous demands. Our school systems treat all teachers as interchangeable parts, not professionals. Excellence goes unrecognized and poor performance goes unaddressed. This indifference to performance disrespects teachers and gambles with students’ lives.

We Need You:

Teachers are important! Teachers are the guardians of our democratic society, and it is their purpose to prepare students to enter into this society and sustain it. They are a valuable and irreplaceable figure in our world. “I Commit to Teach” wants to show everyday teachers that they are important and if they will commit to teach we will commit to give them the honor & support that they deserve.

Award:

We will introduce the Difference Maker of the Year Award. The award will have various components in order for a teacher to qualify to win.

How:

Winning teacher will have their Salary Matched!

1. Teacher must volunteer in the WAG Program Tutorial Program for a min. of 80hrs in a fiscal year.
2. Teacher must participate in WAG Summer Food Service Program a minimum of 80 hours in the summer.
3. Teacher must adopt one student they will assist in excelling at their school.
4. Teacher must commit to Teach.
